Español: Se que este post no tiene que ver con las grabaciones del disco, ni con alguna reseña de algún concierto de metal en Lima. Quería dedicarle este post a un aporte excelente a la cultura culinaria mundial, pero desde la perspectiva de una chica metalera hasta los huesos. Se trata del libro de cocina HELLBENT FOR COOKING - THE HEAVY METAL COOKBOOK de la canadiense ANNICK GIROUX. Como ustedes sabrán, ella es la vocalista de la banda de heavy/doom metal CAUCHEMAR, que casualmente tocó en nuestra capital hace algunos días. Me compré su libro hace como 6 meses, a penas vi la portada me llamó la atención ver a ANNICK con su delantal negro plagado de parches de bandas de metal, genial!
A penas tuve la oportunidad lo compré para que lo trajeran junto con un pedido de libros de algunos amigos del trabajo, la jugada funcionó y llegó a Lima sin problemas. Hasta ahora no he probado en hacer ninguna receta de las que he leído, porque estoy esperando a mudarme para estrenar el primer plato... que conociéndome será el BLACK METAL BERRY PIE enviado a ANNICK por la banda australiana de death/black metal SADISTIK EXECUTION lml! Para los que no saben aún mucho del libro, les cuento que son recetas que bandas de metal de todo el mundo le ha enviado a ANNICK para que las pruebe y las incluya en el libro. Cuenta ella que la banda peruana GOAT SEMEN envió la receta de cuy chactado, pero no la pudo hacer porque en Canadá el cuy es una mascota, no lo podía matar! Bueno, problemas culturales nomás, ojalá que haga una segunda versión para que una banda peruana le envíe la receta de la papa a la huancaína, ají de gallina, arroz con pollo, etc!
El miércoles que pasó, ANNICK junto con FRANCOIS (el guitarrista de CAUCHEMAR) fueron al programa de EL CUARTEL DEL METAL EN LA RADIO, dirigido por JOSE GASPARD (EL CUARTEL DEL METAL) y por RAFAEL NUNEZ (HELLIUM, HYPNOX). Iba a ir pero justo tuve un compromiso familiar y RAFAEL me hizo el favor de pedirle a ANNICK que me lo firmara. Super buena onda, me hizo una dedicatoria linda, hasta con las letras perfectas de una verdadera metal chick! GRACIAS ANNICK, ME ENCANTO! Que sigan disfrutando PERU y mucha suerte y éxitos para CAUCHEMAR en ASIA lml!

English: I know that this post has nothing to do with recordings of the album nor with any review about a concert of metal in Lima. I wanted to dedicate this post to an excellent contribution to the worldwide culinary culture, but from the perspective of a true headbanger girl. I'm talking about the HELLBENT FOR COOKING - THE HEAVY METAL COOKBOOK by the canadian singer ANNICK GIROUX. Like manny of you already know, she's the singer of the heavy/doom metal band CAUCHEMAR, that by chance played in our city some days ago. I bought her book 6 months ago, and as soon as I saw the cover my attention was caught by ANNICK with her black apron covered with patches from metal bands, awesome!
At the earliest opportunity I bought the book to be delivered along with an order of books from some of my friends at the office, the move worked out well and the package arrived to Lima without problems. Until now I haven't tried any recipe from the book, because I'm waiting until I move out so I can use the new kitchen with one of them! Knowing myself, I'm sure it will be the BLACK METAL BERRY PIE sent to ANNICK by the australian death/black metal band SADISTIK EXEKUTION lml! For the ones who don't know much about the book, it focuses on recipes that metal bands from around the world sent to ANNICK for her to try them and include them on her book. She told us that the peruvian band GOAT SEMEN sent a "cuy chactado" recipe, but she could't do it, because in Canada, the guinea pig is a pet, therefore she couldn't imagine killing one! Well, cultural issues that's it, I hope she writes a second version of her cookbook in the future and then a peruvian metal band could send her the "papa a la huancaína", "ají de gallina", "arroz con pollo" recipes, etc!
Last wednesday, ANNICK along with FRANCOIS (CAUCHEMAR guitar player) went to the radio metal show EL CUARTEL DEL METAL EN LA RADIO, hosted by JOSE GASPARD (EL CUARTEL DEL METAL) and by RAFAEL NUNEZ (HELLIUM, HYPNOX). I was supposed to go as an observant, but happened that I had to attend a family commitment and RAFAEL brought my book to the show to ask ANNICK to sign it for me. She was really nice and signed it with a sweet dedication, I loved the letters she used, she's a true metalhead, THANKS ANNICK, I LOVED IT! Hope you keep on having fun here in PERU, good luck and success for CAUCHEMAR in ASIA lml!
