Influences & Connections Vol. 1 - Sneak Peek BEWARE THE HEAVENS by SINERGY

Español: Con la noticia de la reunión de BLACK SABBATH y sabiendo que hay una buena probabilidad de ver en vivo a OPETH en marzo del 2012 rondando por mi mente, me animo a escribir este post para presentar el nuevo video adelanto de un excelente tema de power metal finlandés original de la banda SINERGY. Se trata de la canción BEWARE THE HEAVENS del disco homónimo lanzado en el año 1999 vía Nuclear Blast.

SINERGY es un excelente exponente del power metal con voz femenina, en dónde Kimberly "Kim"Goss (ex-Dimmu Borgir) participa como cantante y tecladista junto a los guitarristas Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) y Jesper Störmblad (In Flames) + el bajista Sharlee D'Angelo (Arch Enemy) y el baterista Ronny Milianowicz (Hammerfall, Primal Fear, etc).

Me incliné en hacer mi propia versión de BEWARE THE HEAVENS para incluirla en mi disco "Influences & Connections Vol. 1", porque me encanta la letra y la garra que le pone Kim a la canción. Hay pocas oportunidades de escuchar canciones como las que nos trae SINERGY, qué pena que luego del "Suicide by my Side" (2002) no lograran sacar hasta la fecha un nuevo álbum. Tenía entendido que sacarían un nuevo disco llamado "Sins of the Past", pero lamentablemente no hemos sabido nada de ellos.

De hecho me gusta mucho más el trabajo de Alexi y Jesper en este disco, que lo que hacen actualmente, tanto en Children of Bodom como en In Flames. De lejos me quedo con los primeros discos de COB desde el Something Wild hasta el Follow the Reaper y con los de In Flames desde el Lunar Strain hasta el Clayman.

De todas formas esta canción no se me hizo tan complicada de grabar como otras del mismo estilo, quizás porque en FOREVER tenía que sacarme de la mente la voz de Khan, en cambio en esta canción puedo arrimarme un poco al feeling que le saca Kim, pero metiéndole un poco de mi estilo. English: Thinking about BLACK SABBATH's reunion and knowing that there's a good chance to see OPETH live on march 2012 I would like to present a new sneak peek of an excellent song from the finnish power metal band SINERGY. This time I'm doing BEWARE THE HEAVENS from the homonimus album released on 1999 via Nuclear Blast.

SINERGY is a great power metal band with a female voice, where Kimberly "Kim" Goss (ex-Dimmu Borgir) participates as the vocalist and keyboard player along with guitarrists Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) and Jesper Störmblad (In Flames) + bassist Sharlee D'Angelo (Arch Enemy) and drummer Ronny Milianowicz (Hammerfall, Primal Fear, etc).

I wanted to make my own version of BEWARE THE HEAVENS to include it on my album "Influences & Connections Vol. 1", because I love the lyrics and the power Kim puts on this track. There are few oportunities to listen to songs like the ones SINERGY composed and it's really sad that after the album "Suicide by my Side" (2002) they haven't achieved to release a new one. I was told that they would release a new album entitled "Sins of the Past", but we haven't heard from them since then.

In fact I prefer Alexi's and Jesper's work on this album, than what they're currently doing in Children of Bodom and In Flames respectively. By far I'm more into old COB albums like from the Something Wild to Follow The Reaper and from In Flames until Clayman.

Anyways, I think the recording of this song was less complicated than doing FOREVER, due to the fact that I had to anulate Khan's deep voice on that one. Recording BEWARE THE HEAVENS was easier, because I tend to sing better female dramatic vocal techniques than soft ones. I also tried to add my personal style on this performance :) Well, it's taking a bit too long here, this is BEWARE THE HEAVENS and I really hope you like it, comment and rate it on my Official Youtube Channel and also on my Official Facebook Page!

NEW PROMO SHOOT | 13th Frame Photography

Español: Hacía algunos meses que no me aventuraba a hacer una nueva sesión de fotos promocionales para mi primer álbum titulado INFLUENCES & CONNECTIONS VOL. 1. La fase de grabación de la instrumentación y voces ya está finalizada y estamos actualmente haciendo una labor de revisión de todo lo que hemos avanzado hasta ahora, para asegurarnos de la calidad del material y de que el sentimiento que transmita cada una de ellas sea el indicado. También estamos trabajando en la producción de la única canción propia que estaré incluyendo en esta entrega de 15 tracks, por lo que este trabajo tomará un poco más del tiempo estimado. De todas formas, yo creo que muy pronto podré compartir una buena noticia con respecto a presentaciones en vivo y a un video oficial completo :)

Retomando el tema de la presentación de estas nuevas fotos, les quiero contar un poco acerca del fotógrafo con el que trabajé en conjunto. Su nombre es Ronald Reeleder, vive en Ontario (Canada) y utiliza sus  habilidades de fotógrafo para recaudar fondos para 2 asociaciones. La Multiple Sclerosis Society Canada y la Sleeping Children Around The World. El viaja alrededor del mundo con donaciones hechas en su website para escalar montañas y así llamar la atención de donadores. A la fecha, Ronald ha escalado el Klijimanjaro, el Everest y en su viaje nuestro país, el Machu Picchu.  En los últimos dos años ha logrado acumular US$ 30,000 para estas dos asociaciones y este año está buscando llegar a US$ 10,000.

En su website podrán encontrar, aparte de sus excelentes fotografías, dos proyectos a través de los cuales recibe donaciones a cambio de arte. El primero se llama The Red Chair Project y el segundo Pay it Forward, ambos promoviendo a las personas a donar a través de la compra de fotografías o a recibir sus fotografías impresas. English: It's been some time now since I made a new promotional photoshoot for my 1st album entitled INFLUENCES & CONNECTIONS VOL. 1. The recording sessions finished at last and now we're currently reviewing every song to make sure that the quality and feeling transmited in every song is like we want it to be. We've also been working in the production of the only original I'm including in this 15 song compilation, which is why it will take a little bit longer than expected. Nevertheless, very soon I'll be able to share some great news about live shows and my 1st videoclip :)

Talking about this new photoshoot, I would like to tell you something about the photographer that made the shoot. His name is Ronald Reeleder, he lives in Ontario (Canada) and uses his photographic skills to raise funds for 2 asociations the Multiple Sclerosis Society Canada and the Sleeping Children Around The World fund. He travels around the globe with donations made in his website so he can climb mountains, thus making people note him and help him raise money. Ronald climbed already the mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Everest and while being in PERU, he climbed Machu Picchu. In the last couple of years he achieved raising US$ 30,000 for this 2 asociations and this year he's goal is to make US$10,000.

On this website you will find his excellent pictures, and 2 projects he's currently featuring to get donations in exchange for his art. The 1st one is called The Red Chair Project and the 2nd Pay it Forward, both encourages people to donate in the form of buying pictures or have them printed.
