ESP: Les cuento que el día de ayer Rafael y yo fuimos a Pito Studios para darle la última chequeada a los 15 temas incluidos en "Influences & Connections Vol. 1". Reconozco que andaba muy nerviosa, pensé que no nos íbamos a poner de acuerdo con respecto al sonido final de las canciones, pero grata fue mi sorpresa al constatar que coincidimos en prácticamente todo! Fue un éxito y ahora sí ya estoy sólo esperando a escuchar el resultado final para crear el master y proceder con el papeleo de las licencias para los covers. Tanto tiempo y trabajo nos ha tomado el sacar este disco que tomaré todas las medidas necesarias para no tener ningún problema posterior a su lanzamiento, me siento super contenta de saber que es cuestión de días para poder proceder con la post-producción del material :D
Lo mismo está sucediendo con el arte de la portada del disco que viene siendo trabajada por Zemog. Como el concepto que quería llevar a cabo es algo un poco complicado de volverlo realidad, hemos estado trabajando en esto ya algunos meses. Desde la sesión de fotos hecha por mi buen amigo, el fotógrafo Jose Cuadros, pasando por colocar las fotos dentro del fondo y luego adicionar unos elementos especiales que he pensado son los indicados para representar a las versiones de canciones de las bandas que escogí como influencias.
Muchos me preguntan si el género propio al que me dedico es gothic metal o power metal debido a las canciones que he escogido, pero la verdad es que escogí todas estas canciones porque fueron influyentes en mi cuando comencé a escuchar metal y sobretodo a cantarlo. En esa época no me imaginaba el escuchar muchas bandas de death o thrash por el hecho de que no me salía raspar la voz y mucho menos hacer guturales. Entonces por obvias razones, me pegué más al power, gothic, symphonic y heavy metal para poder aprender a cantar tratando de imitar a los vocalistas. Fue con el tiempo que comencé a buscar más bandas de otros géneros, por más que no podía cantar las canciones, sentía que por primera vez la instrumentación y el sentido de la canción era mucho más importante que poder interpretar la canción yo misma, y así fui descubriendo los géneros que más me gustan.. el death, thrash, black y progressive metal.
Se acuerdan que les mencioné en algunos posts anteriores que "The Fraud", la única canción original que incluí en mi disco, era distinta a las demás? Bueno, es una mezcla bien rara... no sabría cómo catalogarla, pero es la línea que seguiré para mi próximo disco de puras canciones propias. Es un death/thrash metal melódico (por la voz). Les quiero mostrar un extracto de la letra... para que se den una idea de por dónde va:

También tengo otro anuncio que hacer, voy a colaborar en vivo con CONTRACARA, una excelente banda peruana de heavy clásico en espaniol. Tocamos en vivo el 10 y el 24 de agosto, así que estoy ensayando a full con ellos también! Ya les cuento pronto en qué ando metida, un abrazo a todos, que tengan un fin de semana productivo!

ENG: I wanted to tell you guys that Rafael and I went yesterday to Pito Studios in order to check out the 15 tracks included in "Influences & Connections Vol. 1". I recognise I was feeling very nervious and anxious, I thought we wouldn´t be able to agree on the final sound of the songs, but I was surprised to realise we agreed practically in everything! It's a wrap and now I´m only waiting to get the final result to create the master archives to proceed with the mechanical licensing process for the cover songs. To pull out this album took us long time, so I´ll take care of every single aspect needed so we avoid having problems prior to its release. I feel so happy to know it´s a matter of days to proceed with the post-production of the album :D
Same thing is happening with the artwork, which is being done by Zemog. Since my original concept for the album art was kinda detailed it has been also difficult to make it reality. We've been working in this for a couple of months already. This started with the photoshoot done by my good friend and excellent photographer, Jose Cuadros and then we proceed on inserting the photos in the background plus the special elements I chosed to represent the covers I'm including as my influences.
People ask me if the genre of my original songs is gothic or power metal judging by the covers I'm including in the album, but the truth is that I chosed this songs because they influenced me when I started listening to Metal and more important when I started singin. At the time I couldn't imagine myself listening to Death or thrash Metal due to the fact that I was unable to do harsh vocals or growls. Therefore I listened more power, gothic, symphonic and power Metal trying to mimic their singers.
In time I started searching for bands from other genres, even though I still was unable to mimc their singers, I started feeling identified with the lyrics and music apart from me being able to sing like them or not. Just like that I started discovering the genres now I love the most: Death, Thrash, Black and Progressive Metal.
Do you remember, I mentioned in older posts that "The Fraud" (My only original tune included in this album) was very different from the other songs? well, to be honest it's a very weird mix of genres, In fact I'm unable to categorize it, but what I'm sure is that this sound is the one that I'm following for my next album that will be all originals. It's kind of a mix between Melodic Death/thrash Metal. I would like to show you an excerpt of the lyrics of this song...so you see how it goes :

This song will be included in my next live gig, for those that will attend it, I hope you like it, it will be the first time I played it live, so it will be a big deal for me. I will post the flyer of this concert soon, once I have the official information of the name of the festival. lml
I have another annnouncement, I'll be colaboring live with the peruvian Heavy Metal band CONTRACARA. We will be playing live on August 10th and august 24th, so we're rehearsing a lot! I'll let you know more about this. Hugs and Kisses for all, have an excellent weekend!
