NMK en VIVO este 15 Junio @ Hell Bar de Barranco

COMUNICADO DE CANCELACION: 

Por motivos fuertes de salud que escapan a mis manos me veo en la penosa situación de cancelar la presentación que tenía el día de hoy junto a mi banda en el Hell Bar de Barranco (Lima - Perú).

Hoy de todas maneras sigue en pie el concierto de Atypical Notes (desde Trujillo) + Tributo a Dream Theater, ojalá todos puedan ir a verlos!

Pido disculpas a todos por este aviso de último minuto, pero lamentablemente cuando es un tema de salud poco se puede hacer al respecto. Espero recuperarme muy pronto y pactar una nueva fecha en vivo lo antes posible!

ESPAÑOL: Este viernes 15 de Junio en el Hell Bar de Barranco (Bolognesi 326, frente a la estación del Metropolitano) tocaré en vivo junto a mi banda algunas canciones que están incluidas en mi 1er album de estudio titulado "Influences & Connections Vol. I". Seremos banda soporte de Atypical Notes, banda trujillana de metal progresivo y al final de la noche, y también habrá un tributo a Dream Theater. La entrada en la puerta está S/. 10.00 y viene con un trago incluido.

Este show es el segundo en la lista de conciertos de calentamiento que estoy realizando antes de la presentación oficial del disco, en dónde tocaremos los 15 tracks de corrido. Se que la salida del album ha tomado más de lo previsto, pero prefiero dejar de lado fechas autoimpuestas, tener paciencia y lanzarlo tal cual lo hemos venido ideando desde el año pasado!

Estuve ausente este último mes y medio, me enfermé como nunca antes por el cambio de clima aquí en Lima, aparte el ser alérgica no me ayuda nada! De todas formas, ya me siento mucho mejor, me regresó la voz hace unos días y estoy lista para seguir adelante lml Gracias a todos por sus buenos deseos que he recibido por Facebook y Twitter, son muy amables por escribirme. Si es que no he respondido es porque no tengo acceso a internet, les responderé a penas pueda :)

ENGLISH: On Friday June 15th at Hell Bar (Bolognesi 326, in front of Metropolitano Station) I´ll play live along with my band some songs that will be included on my 1st studio album entitled ¨Influences & Connections Vol. I¨. We´ll be the support act of the progressive metal band from Trujillo Atypical Notes. There will be covers of Dream Theater as well! Tickets at the door for S/. 10.00 - free drink included.

This is the second gig on the list of warm-up shows I will be doing before the official presentation of the album, where we´ll play the 15 tracks. I know that the album has taken a lot more time than planned, but I really prefer to ignore the self-imposed release date, have patience and release it just as I imagine it since the beginning!

I was absent for the last month and a half, because I was sick due to the climatic change here in Lima and being allergic doesn´t help me at all! Anyway, I feel a lot better now, I got my voice back some days ago and I´m ready to move forward lml Thanks to all the best wishes I received through Facebook y Twitter, you are all really sweet for writing me. If I haven´t replied it´s because I don´t have internet access right now, I will get back to you as soon as I can :)

DEADLY CARNAGE - BLACK METAL FROM ITALY

ESPAÑOL: Quería escribir un poco acerca de DEADLY CARNAGE, una banda de black/doom metal con toques acústicos fundada en el 2005 en Rimini, Emilia Romagna, al Norte de Italia. Hace algunos meses que vengo escuchando sus discos y hace poco Fabio Arcangelli tuvo la gentileza de enviarme un paquete con el nuevo material que están promocionando actualmente. Se trata de su último disco de estudio titulado SANTIERO II - CENERI lanzado en el 2011 vía el sello discográfico ATMF (De Tebebrarum Principio), limitado a 1,000 copias. El disco original contiene 6 canciones + el video oficial de "Growth and New Gods".

DEADLY CARNAGE ha sabido mezclar la dureza del black metal de los primeros tiempos con unos toques de metal actual y adicionalmente ha incluido algunos elementos del rock gótico con cambios de ritmo y pasajes propios del doom metal. Si bien muchos fans de black metal puro se verán algo sorprendidos con este material, es altamente recomendable para aquellos que disfrutan de la versatilidad de una banda, cuya música se mantiene dentro de los cánones del black metal inicial.

Las canciones del disco son algo extensas, por momentos caen en la repetición de los pasajes dentro del mismo track, pero a mi parecer, estas repeticiones son como los pasos que uno da para meterse más y más dentro de la historia de cada canción. Me sorprende que hayan mezclado 3 tipos de voces, los guturales, el llamado "noise" y también una voz limpia y que hayan caído tan bien con la instrumentación. ada una tiene un matiz especial que hace que todo el concepto de este disco cobre sentido. Desolación. Oscuridad. Decadencia.

Si bien el black/doom metal no es mi estilo musical favorito, no puedo dejar de recomendar este disco, especialmente por un track. Cada vez que escucho "Ceneri" no puedo hacer otra cosa más que seguir escuchando, es como si la melodía y la historia que cuenta me hubiera atrapado desde el inicio. Cabe resaltar que Marco, el baterista, grabó esta canción con sus manos.

El disco SANTIERO II - CENERI me vino con un TAPE de su producción DECADENZA, lanzada en el anio 2008 vía War Kommand Productions y debo de decir que me encantó el hecho de que hayan editado ese demo en Tape, limitado a 1,000 copias. Muy buena calidad del booklet, de la impresión y sobretodo, de la música. También sacaron una versión en CD, la cuál fue financiada independientemente.

El DECADENZA comienza con dos canciones bastante versátiles, "Antica Europa" en italiano y "1486" en inglés. Black metal con pasajes acústicos desoladores. Los guturales, por momentos reclamos con voz raspada, son realmente buenos y me gusta que dejan bien claro el mensaje de cada canción. "Sogno Evanescente", la 3ra canción, es mucho más concisa, buen trabajo en la batería! Mi favorita es "Facing the Path Of Eternity", la más directa. Los riffs son pegajosos, la composición está bien pensada, la batería es precisa y los guturales transmiten mucho.

ENGLISH: I wanted to talk about DEADLY CARNAGE, a black/doom metal band with some acoustic passages founded in 2005 in Rimini, Emilia Romagna, North Italy. I've been listening to their material some months ago and recently Fabio Arcangelli was very kind to send me a package from Italy with the new original material that the band is currently promoting. I'm talking about their last full-length album entitled SANTIERO II - CENERI released in 2011 via ATMF (De Tenebrarum Principio), limited to 1,000 copies. The album includes 6 songs + the official video of "Growth and New Gods".

DEADLY CARNAGE has been able to mix the raw black metal from the early days with modern metal in addition with some gothic rock elements with rhythm changes and typical doom metal passages. I can tell, although a lot of raw black metal fans will be surprised with this album, it's highly recommendable for the ones that enjoy and appreciate the versatility of a band, which music maintains itself within the black metal cannons.

The songs are mostly long and at some points they get repetitive within the structure, but I think that at the end, those repetitions are similar to the steps you take to go deeper into the story of the song. I was surprised to find 3 different vocal techniques; growls, "noise" and clean vocals. They fit so well with the instrumentation and each of them has a special pitch that makes the whole concept of the album come alive. Desolation. Darkness. Decadence.

It's true that black/doom metal is not my favorite metal sub-genre, I can't stop myself from recommending this album, specially for one track.  Each time I listen to "Ceneri" I just can't do anything else than keep on listening, it's like if the melody and history that this song tells would have caught me and taken me into the deepest abyss.  It's important to point out that Marco, the drummer, recorded this song with his hands.

The album SANTIERO II - CENERI was sent along with a TAPE from their DECADENZA production released in the year 2008 via War Kommand Productions and I must say I loved the fact they decided to release it on a Tape, limited to 1,000 copies. Very good booklet graphic quality and music. They also released it in a CD format, which was independently financed.

DECADENZA  starts with two versatile songs, "Antica Europa" in italian and "1486" in english. Black metal with some distressing acoustic passages. Growls, by moments like complaints with harsh vocals, are very bloodcurding and I like the fact they represent what they mean on each song. "Sogno Evanescente", the 3rd track is a lot more concise, very good work on the drums! My personal favorite is "Facing the Path of Eternity", it goes straight to the point. Riffs are pretty catchy, structure is well distributed and growls transmit perfectly the emotions of this song.

Influences & Connections Vol. 1 - Sneak Peek CANDLELIGHT FANTASIA by SYMPHONY X

ESPAÑOL: Con este post culmina la etapa de la publicación de los videos adelanto de los covers que grabé para incluirlos en mi disco INFLUENCES & CONNECTIONS VOL. 1. Ha sido un arduo trabajo, prácticamente todo el 2011 nos dedicamos exclusivamente a la pre-producción, grabación y promoción de los 14 covers + mi canción propia y la verdad es que ha sido una experiencia totalmente gratificante... he aprendido muchísimo! 

Viendo en retrospectiva, me da risa el leer posts antigüos cuando recién comenzaba a hablar acerca de mis avances en la música, mis ideas, las cosas que me gustaban (como el libro de cocina metalera de la cantante de Cauchemar!) y los momentos de malhumor también. El hecho de poder volcar mis pensamientos aquí ha sido de muchísima ayuda para mantenerme cuerda y seguir esforzándome cada vez más. Ahora que ya terminé de grabar el disco y estamos luchando por terminar con la fase de post-producción lo antes posible, he pasado a ensayar con la banda y a retomar los escenarios... algo que anhelaba hacía tiempo!

Hoy la etapa de videos adelanto de covers a su fin con la presentación de mi versión de CANDLELIGHT FANTASIA (DIVINE WINGS OF TRAGEDY, 1997) original de la banda de metal progresivo norteamericana SYMPHONY X. Fue bastante complicada adaptar tremenda canción a una versión para mi registro vocal, pero la verdad es que no podía dejar de lado esta obra maestra compuesta por los maestros Michael Romeo, Michael Pinnella (música) y Thomas Miller (letra). 

Espero les guste! Pronto revelaré el título de mi canción propia y posiblemente pueda grabar un videoclip de la misma, justamente estoy en conversaciones para decidir si se podrá lograr, ojalá que sí. Estoy planeando realizar shows tanto eléctricos como acústicos, a penas tenga las fechas fijas y los locales, lo anunciaré con flyer oficial en mano. ENGLISH: With this last post I end the phase of publishing video teasers of the covers I recorded to include on my upcoming album as a solo artist INFLUENCES & CONNECTIONS VOL. 1. It's been such a hard work that practically lasted all 2011, dedicating ourselves exclusively on the pre-production, recording and promotion of the 14 covers + 1 original song. It has been an awesome experience... I've learned a lot!

Going back in time, I grin each time I read some of my old posts, when I started talking about my progress on music, my ideas and the stuff I like (e.g. the Heavy Metal Cookbook by the singer of Cauchemar!) and also my moments why fuming about something. The fact that I could write down here how I felt at the time was a tremendous help for me to stay focused and keep on working harder each time. Now that I've finished recording the whole album, we're putting all our efforts in finishing the post-production phase as soon as possible. I've returned to rehearse with the band and also play live... something I was longing for so long!

Today the video teaser publishing stage has come to an end with the presentation of my version of CANDLELIGHT FANTASIA (DIVINE WINGS OF TRAGEDY, 1997) by the northamerican progressive metal band SYMPHONY X. It was very complicated for us to adapt such a kick ass song to a customized version for my vocal range, but the truth is that I couldn't just put aside this masterpiece originally written by the masters Michael Romeo, Michael Pinnella (music) y Thomas Miller (lyrics). 

I hope you all enjoy it! Soon I'll be able to reveal the title of my original song and luckily I would be able to record an official video. I'm also planing on playing some electric and acoustic live shows and I will be announcing them as soon as I have the fix dates and places, along with the official flyers.
